Roblox's Data Engineering team is hosting a meetup for Data Engineering professionals in the Bay Area. We invite our peers in the Data Engineering community to join us for an evening of engaging conversation.

The event will be held in person at The Tavern at Waterdog Landing in Belmont, CA and we will end the evening with a networking Happy Hour.

Yan Shen

Roblox

Yan leads data engineering for the experiments platform at Roblox. Previously he was the tech lead for data engineering at Slack where he built many of the core datasets. After moving to the Bay Area seven years ago, he's finally gotten used to not having seasons.

William Ng

Roblox

Will has been with Roblox for over 2 years and leads the data platform team. He is focused on data efficiency in both production and consumption, while keeping in mind cost efficincies. He has held similar roles in the past at Uber and Facebook.

Jerome Boulon

Roblox

Jerome is currently leading several Data Teams at Roblox building an exabyte scale Analytics Platform to support both Roblox internal Analytics requirements as well as providing actionable Analytics Insights to 1M Roblox creators.

Prior to Roblox, Jerome was founder and CEO of CaliStream, an multi-cloud fully managed service that enables customers to easily stream 1 Trillion Events/day from their applications directly to Spark/Hive/Hadoop. CaliStream was acquired by Roblox in 2019.

Raj Sripathi

Roblox

Raj is an Engineering Director at Roblox leading the Growth Platform team. In his past life, he led several teams at Cloudera including Spark and Data Engineering.

Rasiga Gowrisankar

Meta

Rasiga leads a team of Data Engineers at Meta who work on Social Impact Products with the mission of amplifying the good that happens on Meta’s platforms. She is passionate about using the power of social media for good, enabling her team to build efficient analytics infra, mentoring DEs and increasing diversity in STEM. She loves tending to her multitude of houseplants and working on fiber arts projects in her spare time

Guy Bayes

Vibrantplanet

Guy is the CTO Vibrant Planet where the team utilizes forestry data to help plan and manage forest treatment planning to support wildfire risk reduction and forest restoration. Guy previous was the head of data at Lyft and before that previously lead Data Engineering organizations at Facebook, Charles Schwab, and CBS Interactive. Guy is also an advid hiker and master D&D player.

Vaibhav Jajoo

Doordash

Vaibhav Jajoo (VJ) is a keen data enthusiast with over 20 years experience building data platforms and data solutions. He is Head of Data Engineering and Business intelligence at Doordash. VJ strives in learning how data can be a winning edge for business. He loved understanding their new business models, their data needs and building data solutions.

Before joining DoorDash, VJ led various Data Engineering organizations at large corporations and startups alike, including Disney+, Lyft, Nerdwallet and Charles Schwab.
